JSW Steel proposed 10 million tons steel plant in Jharkhand

JSW steel, engaged in production and distribution of iron and steel products and generation of power leading it to be third largest steel maker in India, is in the verge to begin the construction of its proposed 10 million tons steel plant in Jharkhand by the coming next year.

As per the company''s disclosures, it has set early 2009 as the target for ground breaking and plant to bring the integrated steel plant by March 2012. To bring it into practical, it is in the process of acquiring about 6,500 acres of land in and around Sonahatu block of Ranchi district to begin civil construction of the steel plant.




The company''s annual iron ore requirement would be hooked at about 16 million tons after the steel plant reaches its optimum production capacity. Down the line it would require around 480 million tons of processed iron ore.
